zero2sixty - "...it doesn't matter, man, as long as it ROCKS!"
zero2sixty Biographies

We come from far off places and right next door, music interests that are as diverse as the colors of a sunset.  Yet, we all love performing and playing, and appreciate the friendships we have made.

Maren Carnuccio
Vocals

Music is in Maren's blood. Her dad has been in a band since he was 15 years old, her mother was a dancer and just barely missed the height requirement for the Rockettes, her maternal grandmother used to sing on the radio in Philadelphia in the 40s, her paternal grandmother has a beautiful singing voice and used to do stage shows and follies in the 50s and 60s. Both of her brothers are drummers (and damn good singers, though neither one of them will admit it), and then there is Maren. She sings. She dances. She plays the accoustic guitar, piano, and flute. She blasts the radio and sings while she makes dinner. And she's proud to say that she's spawned music-loving children.

Her earliest memories of music were playing "band" with her dad when he used to babysit Maren and her two brothers. He would give them pots and pans and wooden spoons and couch cushions and the like to bang on while he played his guitar and the piano. Singing "Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da" and "Yellow Submarine", the family developed a unique and fun musical environment, even singing and performing at family parties and events. They listened to classic rock in the car and Maren's first musical crush was Bruce Springsteen (still is!). In third grade, she began piano lessons, in fourth the school chorus, in sixth took up the flute, and in college asked her dad to teach her to play guitar. She learns to play faster by ear than with sheet music, just like her dad, and after he taught her a few basic chords, she would go online and find chords to the popular songs she liked to listen to and teach herself to play them on her guitar.

The first song she ever sang solo was the National Anthem at a college basketball game when she was a freshman. Until then, she had never fancied herself  as a soloist, but the school's music director heard her singing "Summer Lovin'" at Karaoke night in the student lounge with some friends and asked her to sing the Anthem. She is still slightly insecure about her voice, but people tell her it's good.

Though Maren's interest in music began with classic rock, her tastes now are as varied as the Oklahoma weather.  The pre-set stations on her XM in the car are Classic Rock, Decades (40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s), Sinatra, Country, Accoustic Rock, and the E Street Station (of course!).  She loves belting out tunes by Janis Joplin, Heart, Pat Benetar, Led Zepplin, The Who, The Beatles, The Doors, Indai.Arie, The Eagles, Tom Petty, U2, Fleetwood Mac, (this list could just keep going...!) etc.

Currently, Maren resides in Yukon, OK with her country music-loving man, and three music-loving children.
